I know I’ve been posting a lot of Chinese stocks recently but I do feel as though they have the most potential for growth especially with niche positions like VISN. VisionChina Media Inc operates advertising services in China using flat panel televisions that are placed in mass transportation systems. The Shanghai metro serves about 2.18 million every year while the Beijing subway is even bigger, serving around 3.51 million. I’ve lived in Tokyo Japan before and the subways and metros are undoubtedly good areas for advertising since there is no way to go and looking at the guy standing next to you for minutes at a time is not really what I consider exciting. The advertising really does work, or maybe with my foreigner eyes I was just attracted to the in screen entertainment. Aside from the intuitive buy, VISN has seen revenue grow more than 8x 2006 levels and net income turn from a negative 4 million to a plus 9 million. The market cap is still manageable at 1.29 billion.

I think buying on the dip is a good idea

Heres some technical analysis on this one.

CNEH possesses all the signs that it will be a winner for the long hall. Recently, they have secured more funding through equity warrants and debenture financing. The company has brought forth measures to also increase its oil wells from 157 to 675, providing growth and sales. The stocks current PE of 15 is low compared to other China Petroleum companies and given that oil prices maintain their current levels, sales over 55 million are within reach by the end of 2008 and 100 million by the end of 2009. CNEH also sells all its oil to PetroChina, a sustained buyer.
Technically, CNEH is testing the 50 day moving average after a retrace from a high of 4.70. We will see if this support line holds up.

Trina Solar reports on Monday at the tail end of many Solar company earnings. Trina is expected to have gross margins of 24% which is a number they should be able to surpass since they did 27% last quarter. Recently, Trina has made deals with Silfab and DTK to diversify its polysilicon supplier base and have a safeguard against shortages. I think this is a big hit or miss situation for Trina because of the recent rise in Solar stocks and would could be the grand finale or grand drop of solar. If Trina reports higher than expected earnings and maintains guidance, look for this stock to shoot past the lower 50’s and break a 5 month old resistance point. If not, we will have to see if the stock can withstand support at the 200 day moving average of roughly 43. Either way, I think this is a good short-term play on solar, and maybe one of the last for the next couple of weeks. Check out the chart

BEIJING, Feb. 14 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ — New Oriental Education &
Technology Group Inc. (NYSE: EDU), the largest provider of private
educational services in China (”New Oriental” or the “Company”), today
announced that its board of directors has approved a share repurchase
program. The board has authorized New Oriental to repurchase up to one
million of its own American Depositary Shares (”ADSs”) during the period
from February 25, 2008 to December 31, 2008. The repurchases will be made
from time to time on the open market at prevailing market prices, in
negotiated transactions off the market, in block trades, pursuant to a
10b5-1 plan (which allows New Oriental to repurchase its ADSs during
periods in which it may be in possession of material non-public
information) or otherwise.
n) or otherwise.

New Oriental is a China based company that provides English teaching services to many students looking to pursue educational opportunities abroad, business purposes and self-enrichment. The company is in a niche market and is quickly expanding due mostly to globalization and the need for English proficiency.

A company decides to sell shares for many reasons but only decides to buy back for one, GROWTH.

The technicals in the last 3 month look solid as well. Note that this company has projected lower 4th quarter earnings because of the poor weather driving students to defer enrollment to later periods.
